Breakfast was great! The buffet was extensive and varied. Lots of fresh fruits/salads/vegetables to choose from, along with cereals, yoghurts, cold meats and cheeses. The eggs/meats/vegetables from the kitchen were all very well prepared and very delicious. In addition, the beds and room were very comfortable. I loved the deep bath tub! The hotel is also situated within short walking distance from multiple restaurants and amenities. The reception staff were all very friendly and helpful and the shuttle was right on time, too. I give the Melia Barajas very high marks and would definitely recommend it. If I ever return to Madrid, I'll be staying there!

The reception area was very nice and modern, including the bar and restaurant which was a great perk. Very accessible lobby as well (ramps( The location was convenient -- there were a few grocery stores across the avenue and some restaurants close by. The staff was friendly too. The shuttle bus driver showed exceptional customer service -- there was a lady on the bus who turned out to be on the wrong bus and the driver advised her to take a cab, drove over to where the cabs were lined up, got out of the bus to tell the taxi driver where to take her, and helped her with her luggage!

We needed an overnight stay close to the airport and our choice turned out very satisfactory. The room (junior suite) was extremely spacious! Others mentioned an outdated interior but my perception is different: the room interior is classic, but well maintained and clean and very comfortable (large bed which was the first in Spain that fitted my tall husband). Room was quiet (slept with window open). The location surprised us positively in 2 ways: 1. Hotel is in a neighbourhood which actually has a lot of nice restaurants. 2. There was absolutely no sound from airplanes.

We had a large room and much appreciated the full bed for our teenager daughter as it's often hard to find a family room that offers a proper bed rather than a foldaway. The hotel is large, clean and well appointed with the important advantage of being within 10 mins of the airport. We had an excellent meal in the restaurant, exceeding out expectations of a convention style hotel. The free airport shuttle in the morning made getting the our early morning flight easy.

Excellent room for cheap cost. While the dinner and breakfast were some of the most expensive meals I had in Spain, they were pretty good, too. Shuttle was very easy to set up. Some have mentioned that the shuttle takes about as long as the metro which is true, but also getting pickpocketed on the metro on the way to the airport wasn't a risk I was willing to take.
